AWARD APPLICATION ARE NOW CLOSED The Waverley Amateur Radio Society (WARS) sponsored the WARS 90 award to commemorate its 90th anniversary. WARS was officially formed on 27th January 1919 at the Waverley home of Mr. R. Charlesworth, who would serve as the Society’s first president. Today, the club operates from rooms in the Scout Hall in Rose Bay NSW Australia The WARS 90 award is available to all amateurs and SWLs. The aim was to contact members of WARS and /or make use of the Society’s repeaters during our 90th year. The club station used the commemorative callsign, VI2BV90, from the 24th January 2009 until the 1st February 2009. There are four award levels, each with their own award certificate. Awards will be made according to the number and types of contacts made during the calendar year 2009. Gold and Diamond awards include a small trophy in addition to the Award Certificate. Awards will be issued for contacts between 01 January 2009 00:00 to 31 December 2009 24:00 (Sydney Time - UTC+11). The closing date for applications for awards is 30th June 2010. Awards and Fees
Award Conditions ★ A minimum of 5 contacts must be made for any award. ★ Amateurs need to conduct a two-way QSO. (SWLs are required to log such QSOs). ★ Repeat QSOs can be counted toward the award when separated by at least 1 day. ★ Bronze Award is free for VK amateurs who include an A4 size Stamped Self-Addressed Envelope (SSAE) with sufficient return postage to their QTH with the award application. Payments should be made either by Direct Deposit to the WARS Bank Account or using PayPal as shown on the application form. ★ Please submit all requests for the WARS 90 award to Awards Manager WARS PO Box 634, ROSE BAY NSW 2029 ★ Awards will be made upon receipt of an Award Application Form and a signed log extract.
