Waverley Amateur Radio Society - 90th Anniversary Award 2009

AWARD APPLICATION ARE NOW CLOSED

The Waverley Amateur Radio Society (WARS) sponsored the WARS 90 award to commemorate its  90th anniversary.

WARS was officially formed on 27th January 1919 at the Waverley home of Mr. R. Charlesworth, who would serve as the Society’s first president. Today, the club operates from rooms in the Scout Hall in Rose Bay NSW Australia

The WARS 90 award is available to all amateurs and SWLs. The aim was to contact members of WARS and /or make use of the Society’s repeaters during our 90th year. The club station used the commemorative callsign, VI2BV90, from the 24th January 2009 until the 1st February 2009.

There are four award levels, each with their own award certificate. Awards will be made according to the number and types of contacts made during the calendar year 2009. Gold and Diamond awards include a small trophy in addition to the Award Certificate.

Awards will be issued for contacts between 01 January 2009 00:00 to 31 December 2009 24:00 (Sydney Time - UTC+11).

The closing date for applications for awards is 30th June 2010.
